Bearings
Q1. Two towns, A and B are shown on a basic map, their proximity with regard to each other is shown.
- Calculate, or otherwise establish, the bearing of A from B
As the measurement of bearings is clockwise, with 360o to the full circle, the correct bearing of A from B would be 360o-25o=335o
- Calculate, or otherwise establish, the bearing of B from A
The lines extending Northwards from A and B are of course parallel, using the rule of "allied" angles (add up to 180o) we can see that the bearing of B from A would be 180o-25o = 155o.
