Food Tests
The food we eat is broken down by our digestive system, and the nutrients it contains are used to feed our bodies and take care of our biological functions. Some of the food groups we eat are Starches (for sugar), Sugars, Lipids (Fats and Oils) and Protein.
How do we identify their presence in food? Well there are tests we can perform and these are part of the practical work that you will be able to do in your science studies.
The next few sections will explain some of the tests, but I want to take the explanations a little bit further so that you can really appreciate the chemistry behind these reactions.
