Mean, Median and Mode
Q1. Find the mean of the following dataset:

The mean is the average value, so if we add up the 9 components and divide that result by 9 we will receive the following result:

Note that you don't have to put the values into numerical order to calculate the mean.
Q2. Find the modal value of the following dataset:

The modal value is the value which occurs most frequently, so in this fairly simple case you should be able to see that "9" is the modal value.
Q3. Find the Mean and the Median value from the following dataset taken from football spectator attendances at a local football ground.

The mean value is the average of the attendances across 6 weeks. The total attendance is the sum of the individual attendances, in this case it will be 209,719 giving an average (or mean) of 34,953.The median value requires a little bit more work because first of all we have to put the values into numerical order starting from smallest to largest:

There is a slight complication because we have an even number of values, which means that the median value lies between the two values at the centre, it is in fact the mean of these two values. In this case the median value is the mean of 34,202 and 35,912 which is:
